Time in stage is a useful prompt for review, not a verdict about deal quality. A sales support assistant can identify aged opportunities, gather recent activity, and prepare an exception list. The seller decides whether the stage, date, or strategy should change.
Define the alert
Set stage-specific age thresholds and exclude known pauses or customer dependencies. Include the stage entry date, latest activity, next step, owner, and source notes. If the policy does not cover the case, escalate it.
Review the signal
Sample by stage, owner, and age band. Check whether the alert found a missing update or a legitimate long cycle. Track false positives and corrections so the threshold improves over time.
The queue makes pipeline review more focused without replacing seller judgment with an arbitrary timer.
